Implementing the PSLL project was a valuable thought-provoking experience that added to our reflections on our strategies and attitudes toward working with young children. It was a challenging process, particularly because our group is in the preschool age range. Despite adapting the proposals and materials, many of the activities were quite long and heavily dialogue-based, which proved difficult given the children’s developmental stage and limited patience in a large group setting.
What stood out the most was how children brought their own personal experiences into the discussions, when they were engaged, often in very relevant and insightful ways. These moments showed us that, even at a young age, they are capable of making meaningful connections with the session topics.
What we consider most important to highlight is the crucial role of emotional and social development in early education. Projects like this are essential not only for supporting this area of development in children, but also for encouraging ongoing dialogue and reflection among educators about these often undervalued aspects of the curriculum.
