3.9 – by Portugal – Cultivating Growth: Hosting the Final Chapter of the PSLL Journey in Porto

From June 1st to 7th, our school community had the privilege of hosting the final five-day workshop for teachers within the PSLL project. This mobility in Porto brought together our partners, not just for a meeting, but to culminate two years of collaboration, reflection, and shared growth.

The professional core of the week was intensely focused. In a series of dedicated workshops led by facilitators Nadine and Krisztina, teachers engaged in the crucial final preparations for the project’s upcoming conference. The air in the rooms was one of concentrated collaboration as they refined their powerful “AHA moment” testimonies – personal stories of profound professional insight gained through the project. The process of selecting, sequencing, and practicing these presentations was a deeply reflective exercise, solidifying the collective learning journey and ensuring a powerful final showcase of the project’s impact.

Beyond the workshop walls, we were delighted to offer a taste of Portuguese culture and the unique charm of Porto. The program included a visit to the interactive World of Discoveries Museum, a walking tour through the historic, hilly streets of Ribeira and Fontainhas, and a comprehensive Tourist Bus Tour that included a refreshing stop by the Atlantic seaside. A memorable evening was spent at WOW (World of Wine), followed by a dinner that allowed for informal bonding and celebration away from the school setting.

On Wednesday we had the festive Certificate Ceremony and Dinner, a symbolic event where we could formally honor the dedication and hard work of every student and educator involved. It was a joyful and poignant evening, marking the end of a significant chapter in our professional lives.

Hosting this final mobility was an immense responsibility and an honour. It provided a moment to reflect on the entire PSLL journey from a place of gratitude. We extend our deepest thanks to all the partner teams for their trust, active participation, and the rich perspectives they brought to our school. A special acknowledgment goes to our incredible organizing team, the project coordinators, and the facilitators whose expertise guided the process to its successful conclusion.

This experience reaffirmed the power of European collaboration in education. We return to our classrooms with a renewed sense of purpose and a strengthened network of inspiring colleagues. We may be closing this project, but the connections and insights will undoubtedly continue to shape our practice.

Our sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to making this final teachers’ mobility a profound and successful conclusion to the PSLL project.

Thanks to the messages that we received in the end of this mobility, like this one:  “We enjoyed every moment of this mobility. We watched a film about Porto in our apartment, and we recognized that we saw with our own eyes all highlights of the city. Thanks for your hospitality and the hard work of our partnership 🥰  Kids loved to be with their host families. See you in Makó, Hungary” or this “We are on our way to the airport. Thanks again to Portugal team for such a wonderful time. Your school is full of joy, a place of interesting history and your teachers helpful and full of love.”
