As part of the international educational project Erasmus+ “Positive Discipline in European Schools”, students and teachers of our school took part in the last partnership meeting in Portugal. This mobility was not only an opportunity to deepen knowledge about the positive discipline, but also to exchange experiences, international integration and learn about the culture and history of the Porto region. The program of the meeting was very rich and diverse. The opening ceremony began with an artistic performance by the students of the host school, followed by the speech of the school’s principal, Fr. José Cordeiro, and the project coordinator, Eszter Barati. Then, students from the partner countries of Portugal, Hungary, Bulgaria, France, North Macedonia and Polish presented short presentations about their schools and countries. The ceremony ended with an artistic performance prepared by the hosts’ students. In the following days, the participants took part in numerous educational activities. Integration games were organized for students, led by Francisco Silva and Liliana Cardoso, as well as a group session on our experiences with positive discipline under the guidance of Anita Kaderják. Particularly popular were the creative workshops entitled “What does positive discipline mean to me?”, led by Susana Lima, which allowed students to express their reflections and values in a creative way. There were also cognitive and cultural elements. Participants visited the interactive museum “World of Discoveries” and also took part in the “Hidden Paths of Porto” walking tour, leading through the historic districts of the city. As part of further activities, group workshops and mindfulness classes were held. Participants also had the opportunity to explore the city during a tour by tourist bus. The next day, a cultural morning was organized, during which there was a cruise on the Douro River “Six Bridges River Cruise”, as well as a visit to the Cais de Gaia district.
The meeting in Portugal was an extremely valuable experience for both students and teachers. The participants came back with new knowledge, inspiration for further work and unforgettable memories of international cooperation.
